This is a Portuguese dish, from a very well know Portuguese cooking book "Culinária Portuguesa" (Portuguese Culinary), from António Maria de Oliveira Bello. It's great book for everyone who likes good tastes from Portugal!
This dish is very good if you want to cook something different for your lover, relatives or friends because it's not that hard to do and is also delicious! I reccomend this dish for a family diner, served with white or green wine, small fried fish and a salad asside. Enjoy!
Ingredients (6 to 8 pax):
- 500 g / 1.1 lbs of white dry bread
- 1 l / 33.8 fl. oz. of water
- 1 1/2 dl. of olive oil
- 1 tbsp. of salt
- 3 garlics (cut in halfs)
1- You put the garlics frying on the olive oil until they get golden. Then join the water, the bread in pieces, salt and pepper. Stir with a wooden spoon or similar.
2- Let it boil a few minutes until the bread as absorved all the water and the olive oil.
3- It's costumary to join eggs over the soup and let them cook.
4- It's done! If you don't like it too thick, just join more water.
