Choquinhos Fritos à Algarvia (Algarve's Fried Cuttlefish)


This is a very well know dish from Algarve (Southern region of Portugal). It's absolutely delicious!


Ingredients (4 pax):

- 8 cloves of garlic
- 200 ml / 6.8 fl. oz. of olive oil
- 1 kg / 2.2 lbs of small cuttlefish
- 1 coriander sprig
- 1 laurel leaf
- hot chilli sauce (if wanted)
- salt
- parsley


1- Put the olive oil, the sliced garlic cloves and the laurel leaf in a pot on the stove until the garlic is golden.

2- Join the small cuttlefish and let them fry.

3- Season with the coriander, the parsley, the salt and the hot chilli sauce (if wanted) and serve with french fries or boiled potatoes.
